Portable Mp3 Players Review by Victor Thomas

Portable Mp3 Players

Portable MP3 Players have taken the world by storm primarily owing to its compact size, solid-state technology and large memory capacity. MP3 Players enjoy distinct advantages compared to portable music players chiefly because there is no room for MP3 players missing whether the user is taking a bumpy car ride, having a jog or cycling on an uneven road or path.

All your favourite MP3 songs or other audible forms of media can be normally stored in Flash Memory systems that is either built-in on the Sony Memory Stick, Compact Flash cards or SmartMedia – the same type of cards & sticks we use for digital cameras and that can also be operated with the portable MP3 players in the same manner.

The process of preparing MP3 files has become quite simple these days. First, MP3 files are prepared on a PC by either downloading songs form the Internet, compressing music from a CD format or producing its original source on MP3 software. You can then download the files through the computer’s USB port or parallel port straight away into the MP3 Player or reader or removable drive that accepts the card/stick of choice.

Most portable players nowadays are packed with software programs to facilitate the process of downloading.

Compared to CD Players, Portable MP3 Players have solid state memory that determines the amount of data they can store. You can make use of the compression format for compressing a 32MB stored on a CD to 1.6MB that can be stored on a MP3 Player. Therefore, even a low-cost portable MP3 can hold roughly about 4 hours of quality music.

If you are going to use the portable MP3 Player in moving vehicles or carry it around while you are jogging, cycling or walking – a model that has a microdrive is a welcome option. Microdrives like hardrives are used in PCs but they are much smaller.

Similar to a regular hard drive there is a chance of occurrence of a skip in case the MP3 player is jostled. But compared to flash drive, MIicrodrives have the advantages of both storage capacity and is much economical. Like a Flash drive, Microdrives can carry anywhere from 10 to 15 times media clearly making the portable MP3 Player a musical powerhouse.

MP3 Players are now availlable from 1GB to 160GB. You can read reviews on 2GB MP3 Players, 4gb and 8gb Players to choose the best audio player from Sony, Archos, Sandisk, iRiver and all latest models available in the market.

Portable CD Mp3 Player

Executive Summary by Anne Ahira

Portable CD MP3 Player

CD MP3 Player Portable

There are two types of devices that fall into the portable CD mp3 player category. Portable CD Mp3 Player – Ripped CD’s

The most common type of portable CD mp3 player is a typical mp3 CD player that will also play burnt or ripped CD’s. A. Computer
B. Cd-Rw or Cd burner disk drive
C. Software for creating new music CD’s
D. Blank CD’s

This way you can save a copy in your computer, burn a CD to travel with and save your original copy somewhere safe.

Most new portable CD mp3 players will recognize all the many mp3 formats. For older mp3 players you will want to read the specifications on which types of music files they will play.

Portable CD mp3 Player – Mp3 Dock

Portable CD mp3 player that doubles as an mp3 player dock. More simply stated this is a portable device that allows you to play CD’s of all types but also has a dock for your portable mp3 player.

Now you can play your ripped CD’s or the hundreds of songs saved to your mp3 player usb. Versatile and handy this player will likely replace traditional CD players sometime in the near future. Not much use for a portable CD mp3 player with a dock if you do not have or plan to get an mp3 player.

COBY PMP4330 – An Excellent Portable MP3 Video Player

How can you identify which portable mp3 video players are the top?

Portable Mp3 Video Player are divided by amount of storage and as by product merk. And as an experienced user, I am be able to tell you that there are only two product that fit for users who want portable Mp3 player with the complete video functions: Archos 604, or Coby PMP4330.

Archos was in the top in power Portable Mp3 Player until their product splitted into two separate products. Now you have to buy a separately-priced docking component to record video, and use proprietary cables to connect the unit to a computer. Archos did this to get the price closer to the low $300′s.

But Coby has directed to carry a product that makes you to get a self-contained unit with all the features of the old Archos models in a very compact package for around $269 (in a recent sale) with a 30GB hard drive and an SD card slot. You don’t have to buy anything else to record content directly from the unit, and it uses normal cables that are included.

The 4.3″ wide screen blows away the market competition. If you haven’t used a Portable Mp3 Player with a wide screen, you don’t know what you are missing. Many Portable Mp3 Player makers are moving this direction. Coby allows you to set the ratio and fill the entire screen regardless of the video. This is a good unit to watch video on.

The stereo speakers are amazing and disperse the miserable speakers on my other Portable Mp3 Players and even my laptop! You hardly ever see this in a Portable Mp3 Player. The reason for this is the design behind the unit that allows optimal space for speaker positioning. I’m not an expert, but you will be satisfied.

The FM radio function is excellent because Coby designed a user-friendly radio interface that looks and feels the part. The reception quality was as good as any car radio.

As an MP3 player it doesn’t impress or unimpress me. Most MP3 players deliver content that is pretty standard. If you don’t care about video and just want an MP3 audio player, buy an iPod because you will be able to recharge it using a USB cable and it will have a smaller foot print.
